Slow Wine Afternoon:
Forgotten Ancestors from Enotria
at Jimmy's

Sunday, October 14, 2007, 4-6pm, $35 in advance.

Alfonso Cevola, Italian Wine Guy, guides a tasting of wines made from almost forgotten grapes.

According to Jennifer Uygur, leader of Slow Food Dallas, Italy has a wealth of ancient vines that have been brought back from extinction since the end of WWII. These were familiar to some Italian winemakers, but their identification was proven only recently by genetic mapping, and purer strains are now being propagated.

Wines made from these heirloom Italian varieties - each indigenous to its region - will be tasted:

Arneis from Piedmont
Falanghina from Campania
Gaglioppo from Calabria
Teroldego Rotaliano from Trentino
Sagrantino from Umbria
Primitivo from Apulia

How to reserve: Purchase ticket online, $35 + ticket service fee: Brown Paper Tickets
Several bottles of wine will be raffled off at this event. Raffle tickets will be sold at the event for $5 apiece, cash or check only.
