Four course wine dinner at City Café with Joanne Close, representing Chateau Camplazens, Coteaux du Languedoc, La Clape.

La Clape is a sub-appellation of Coteaux du Languedoc AOC.
26 vineyards are situated on La Clape, environmentally protected since 1965, where the only permitted activity is grape growing.

Camplazens is located at the top of La Clape, a limestone mountain 10 miles long and 4 miles wide overlooking the Mediterranean.

In addition to Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan, the Camplazens vineyard has a small amount of Viognier as well as a new variety called Marselan.

Owners Susan and Peter Close purchased Chateau Camplazens (meaning "Camp of Pleasure" as dubbed by the Romans) in 2000 and their wines are now receiving international recognition.
