Monastrell Conference

The program at the Auditorio de la Diputación in Alicante, Spain includes representatives from DO Vinos de Alicante, DO Jumilla and DO Yecla, representatives from the Valencian Community, Castile-La Mancha, Murcia, the French region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (where the grape is known as Mourvedre), California and Australia, will participate. Spanish participants will include Rosa Angulo, the Director of Wines for ICEX Spain, Trade and Investment; Luis Leza, Head of the Wine Products Area of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment (MAGRAMA); Dr. Vicente Sotés, Professor of Viticulture at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid; Dr. Rafael Martínez Font of the Universidad Miguel Hernández; prominent Spanish chef Suzi Diáz and winemaker Miguel Gil of Bodegas Juan Gil (DO Jumilla). International participants include French oenologist Bruno Prats and American Gerry Dawes, an expert on Spanish gastronomy.
