From the Cellar...Gary Farrell
Gary Farrell Pinot Noir
1997 Sonoma County Russian River Valley
Colors of cherry cider and ruby, clear and luminous in the glass. The only visual hint of age is the hue on the rim, ruby two years ago, now approaching ruby-brown. Fragrant violets, cherry, raspberry, vanilla aromas. Flavors of ripe red fruit. Medium light body, well balanced fruit and acidity, medium length cherry finish with a hint of chocolate. Mature and drinking well. Perfect cork. If you have this wine in your cellar, drink now and enjoy. Beautiful match with venison, both the sweet rare interior and the rich spice-espresso rubbed exterior. Perfect accompaniment for our treasured Le Régal de Bourgogne cheese, which Fromagerie J. Delin wraps in a fragrant coat of raisins macerated in mirabelle eau de vie and marc de Bourgogne.
